Boothby: Phaedrus The Old Woman and the Wine-Cask

A Wine-Cask met a Grandam's nose;
The scent was good that from it rose;
Falernian lees there still remain'd,
Which their old odour had retain'd.
"What must," says she, "have been the wine,
That leaves a fragrance so divine!"
Who know me, here perhaps will see,
Something may be applied to me.
