The Thrush and the Swallow

The Thrush and the Swallow. The thrush was bragging that he had made friends with the swallow, but his mother said to him, "You are a fool, my son, if you believe that you can live with her, given that each of you is accustomed to seek out different habitats. You are someone who enjoys places that are cold while she enjoys the warmer climes."

Notes. This is Abstemius 27. As usual with Abstemius, it is not found in Perry's inventory. I'm not sure if this is a very good natural description of the habitats preferred by thrushes and swallows, but it is certainly good advice for people contemplating marriage. If you want to live in Florida and your partner prefers Alaska, trouble might result!
